As Seen on TV: Kelly Burchill’s Post-Hurricane Insights

As a South Tampa native and leading real estate advisor, Kelly Burchill recently appeared on ABC’s The Morning Blend to share her heartfelt perspective on the impact of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Reflecting on her own experiences growing up in a flood-prone area, including Hurricane Elena in 1985, Kelly emphasized the importance of emotional well-being over transactions. She also issued a candid warning to homeowners about opportunistic investors preying on vulnerable families post-storm. Kelly’s commitment to helping her hometown recover is evident in her organization of this Hurricane Recovery Expo, which brings together practical resources like mold remediation advice, home repair consultations, and architectural solutions, along with support for emotional resilience.

thanks for joining us at the Hurricane Recovery Expo

Rebuilding after a hurricane can be overwhelming, but South Tampa homeowners came together on Saturday, December 7th, to find guidance and support at our exclusive Hurricane Recovery Expo. The event featured invaluable insights from Dave Jennings, the City of Tampa’s Floodplain Administrator, who addressed pressing questions about permits, rebuilding regulations, and post-storm recovery resources.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors and participating professionals who made this event possible. From homebuilding and renovation experts to insurance advisors, financial consultants, and mental health professionals, each contributor played a vital role in helping attendees navigate the recovery process with confidence. Scroll through our gallery below to see highlights from the event, and thank you for being part of this impactful day!

A Guide of Support and Relief Resources for Recovery

Hurricane Recovery Resources

After experiencing the impact of two major hurricanes in such a short time, I understand firsthand how overwhelming this recovery process can be. It’s been the most emotionally and mentally draining few weeks I’ve had in a long time, and I can only imagine how tough it must be for those who have faced even greater losses. We all need help right now, and this form is a way for me to assist in connecting you with the right resources. Whether you need a contractor, supplies, or just someone to point you in the right direction, fill out the form below, and I’ll do my best to get you the help you need. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help. There are so many in our community who weren’t as affected and are ready to lend a hand.

Please let us know anything else you might need

For those of you who have evacuated and are anxiously waiting to see what's happening at home, I know how unsettling it can be. With power outages potentially affecting our Ring cameras, it’s hard to stay connected to what’s going on in real-time. To help ease some of that worry, I’ve compiled a few live camera links where you can watch the storm as it comes in. These feeds will be active for as long as the power and cameras hold up, providing a way to stay informed from wherever you are
