Tampa is one of the fastest-growing medical markets in the country. Tampa General, USF Health, Moffitt Cancer Center, BayCare, AdventHealth, James A. Haley VA, and HCA have turned this city into a destination for physicians at every stage of their career.
Which means the home search here isn't really a real estate decision. It's a lifestyle decision disguised as a commute decision.
I'm Kelly Burchill, a third-generation South Tampa native and broker associate with Compass, licensed in Florida and New York. I've worked with physicians relocating across Tampa's medical corridor — and I know how to get them landed in the right neighborhood before their start date.
Ownership records. Flood history. School zoning lines. Street-level traffic at 2 a.m. I research the way physicians diagnose — no guessing.
Most of my physician clients shop remotely between shifts. I run the search so you don't have to, and I tell you the truth — including when a house everyone loves is on the wrong street.
If the right home isn't on the market, I go find it. Ownership research and direct outreach included.
We define your commute, budget, schools, and timeline — usually months before your start date.
Video walk-throughs, street-level briefings, and honest takes. I'm your eyes on the ground.
If the right home isn't listed, I go find it. Ownership research and door knocking included.
Coordinated to your start date. You arrive to a home — not a to-do list.
"Once Kelly knew what we were looking for, she was the most hardworking and proactive agent we'd ever worked with. She was incredibly flexible with two surgeons' schedules and found us our dream home."
"Kelly was outstanding - especially for a family buying remotely from across the country. She made sure we understood not just what neighborhood a house was in, but what the street was like. Was there too much traffic for a family with small kids? Where were the playgrounds and schools? How long would our commutes be? We've worked with realtors before who push clients into the first place they show interest in. Kelly urged us to be patient. She treated us not like a client or a paycheck, but like new neighbors and friends. And then she went above and beyond. A day before we arrived, she stopped by the house, found the AC wasn't working, called a technician, and paid for the repair out of pocket. When we pulled up for the first time, the house was cool, the fridge was stocked, and our kid was signed up for pool safety lessons. If you're looking for someone who knows South Tampa and genuinely cares about finding you a home - not just a house - choose Kelly."
"As a dual physician couple completing a fellowship in Canada under COVID restrictions, we were unable to go to Tampa prior to our work start date but needed a house with pretty specific requirements. Not only did Kelly help us find the perfect house before it went on the market, she also stopped us from purchasing a 'good enough' property when we were getting close to our deadline. I like to joke that we bought our house online - which is true, but it was only a great buy because we had Kelly on our side."
"7 star service!!! Literally went around door to door in the area we were looking at and asked if people wanted to sell. Stopped us from settling for a house that wasn't great because we were getting nervous. Found us the perfect house and helped us every step of the way as we were living abroad with strict COVID laws! Hands down the best."
"Wonderful experience, very attentive and easy to get a hold of. It was a smooth home buying experience."
"Kelly is the best. She is patient and took all of our wishes into account to find us the most perfect home for our family for years to come. She comes with my highest recommendation."
"Most agents stop when the answer isn't right in front of them. That's when I start digging."

Ideally 60-90 days before your anticipated move. That gives us time to narrow neighborhoods, understand your goals, and identify opportunities before you arrive.
Absolutely. Many of my physician clients relocate from out of state. I regularly conduct virtual tours, coordinate inspections, and manage the entire process remotely until it's time to close.
For TGH, many physicians gravitate toward Davis Islands, Hyde Park, Palma Ceia, and Beach Park. For Moffitt and USF, neighborhoods like Tampa Palms, Hunter's Green, New Tampa, and parts of South Tampa are popular depending on commute preferences and lifestyle goals.
Not necessarily. Many of my clients purchase homes while still living in another city. I can preview properties, provide detailed video walk-throughs, and help you evaluate neighborhoods remotely.
The market varies significantly by price point and neighborhood. Some areas offer buyers more negotiating power than we've seen in years, while highly desirable neighborhoods and well-priced homes can still move quickly.
Yes. Relocating is about much more than real estate. I can help connect you with lenders, insurance providers, contractors, schools, and local resources to make your transition to Tampa as smooth as possible.
Most physicians reach out 3-6 months before their start date. That's the right time. Let's get ahead of it.
